“My lab is interested in understanding the molecular determinants of key presynaptic properties such as release probability, vesicle recycling and short term plasticity. To do this we develop and use a number of optical approaches in combination with molecular perturbations. I will discuss two emerging areas of research from my lab : control of calcium channel abundance, function and the presynaptic action potential waveform as well as the control of ATP levels in nerve terminals and the impact of this on function.”
